Russian-Japanese Business Council held round-table meetings in eight key fields of cooperation between Russia and Japan

Within the framework of Russian-Japanese Business Dialogue held on December 16, 2016 Russian-Japanese Business Council and “DelovayaRossiya” (“Business Russia”) organized eight subject sessions corresponding to the sections of the Abe plan.

The key subjects discussed during the session named “Expansion of Humanitarian Exchange” were mechanisms to activate Russian-Japanese humanitarian cooperation in science, sports and tourism. Discussion on the development of urban environment covered issues of urban planning, creation of smart electricity networks, and improvement of urban infrastructure. During session on energetics new formats of bilateral cooperation in oil and gas sector, renewable energy sources, energy conservation and construction of energy infrastructure were proposed. Special session was devoted to the development of industry and organization of an export base in the Russian Far East. Cooperation in the field of advanced technology was discussed also.

Session named “Cooperation of small and medium-sized business” focused on mechanisms for expanding links between small and medium-sized enterprises in Russia and Japan, and intensifying interaction in the field of business matching. At session on development of cooperation in healthcare, meeting of representatives of pharmaceutical industry of Russia and Japan was held with the participation of chairman of Russian-Japanese Business Council, president of “Delovaya Rossiya” Alexey Repik.

During Russian-Japanese Business Dialogue more than 80 bilateral documents were signed. Most of them were signed directly at the business dialogue site in New Otani hotel. More than 1300  top managers of the largest Russian and Japanese companies from various fields of economy took part in the business dialogue.
